Failsworth GPs Create Reliable Vitamin Supplements

According to a report, two Failsworth-based GPs have launched a range of supplements aimed at addressing nutritional deficiencies facing people in the UK.

The Health & Food Supplements Information Service (HSIS) published a report in 2019 warning the UK “sleep is walking towards serious illness” due to poor diet and lack of vital nutrients.

Now GPs Mark Wilshere and Marc Crutchley, known as Dr Marks, are providing a range of supplements that they believe will help Brits get the vitamins and micronutrients they need.

Dr Wilshere said: “The biggest problem is that a lot of people don’t realize that they are nutrient deficient.”

He went on to say that “people do not get enough of certain vitamins and minerals” and that this affects “the general health and well-being of people.”

There are five separate supplements: Pregnancy, Vitamin D, Immune Support, Men’s Multivitamin, and Women’s Multivitamin.

According to Dr Wilshere, the vitamin supplement market has become unreliable because it is not well regulated, which means that anyone is able to sell products that they claim to be beneficial. With many of the patients they had seen suffering from nutritional and market deficiencies in their current condition, Dr Wilshere and Dr Crutchley decided that they would produce vitamin supplements on their own.

The HSIS report states that nearly one in four people suffer from vitamin D deficiency and Dr. Marks would recommend that everyone take a vitamin D supplement. Some of the other nutrients that people often lack are iron, vitamin B12 and vitamin C.

Both doctors want to improve the nutritional decline the UK is facing through their supplements and healthier living education.

Dr Marks runs the Quayside medical practice in Failsworth. Their supplements can be purchased in sachets containing 60 capsules. The pouches can be purchased from their website www.drmarks.co.uk, with their products expected to be available on Amazon by mid-October.
