Currently valued at $100 million, the company aims to expand its influence by becoming the benchmark for food safety and nutritional advice in Asia. The mission is to educate one million families in Asia across the Eating well is a way of life program by 2025.
The leadership team, made up of food scientists, physicians, dietitians and naturopaths, says its goal is to “give people the latest nutritional information through technology, prevent chronic health-related diseases of life and obesity”.
Farmz Asia is one of the few companies in Southeast Asia to offer funded courses on “basic nutrition” and “healthy eating”. WSQ programs, quality assured by SkillsFuture Singapore, give learners a level playing field regardless of their background.
The founders see the potential of the company beyond an exit plan; they aim to benefit citizens around the world. They recently turned down a $75 million acquisition proposal from a top player in the natural health industry, to make room for the right partners in the future that fit their vision. Their vision is to give kids the tools they need to make healthier food decisions. Throughout 2022, the company will expand its reach to serve more SEA countries, rolling out courses through its “super lifestyle app”. Enterprise Singapore said it would support Farmz Asia’s efforts.
To create massive change in children’s eating habits, scale is key. Technology offers the means to reach large audiences both quickly and efficiently. Farmz Asia is poised to use additional funds and cutting-edge technologies to bring about meaningful change not just in Southeast Asia, but around the world.
